Grace

The definition of grace is elegance, beauty in manner, motion, or action. I believe that women are grace. My cousin Darci and I have always loved that word and loved the women who possess it. It has always been something I have wanted to possess. I have started this blog as my own personal way to increase self acceptance and accept grace into my life. I hear so often in conversation how we are a society obsessed with weight, youth, and beauty. It makes me angry. It makes me furious that we as women have allowed ourselves to buy into this message. I hear a celebrity talk about how they are happy with who they are while simultaneously crash dieting and lashing out at the media for the "fat"pictures. Or very recently we have watched Oprah beat herself up over her weight battle. I am convinced it is all counterproductive for women to hear these messages. All of this obsession with weight and beauty hasn't improved any ones lives. No one is thinner or prettier, we are just more unhappy that we haven't done more to achieve it. We are women of God and should be the happiest women on earth, but I think we miss out on feeling the full measure of God's love for us because we struggle to love ourselves. I want women to discover that by loving and accepting who we are, we are more fully prepared to receive God's love and also love those around us more fully. Now is the time for grace. We can be women who are full of beauty in action and in manner. We can be women who accept who we are and realize our potential. We can be women who change the world.
